Mini Mahjong How to play

Quick start

A short connection puzzle about removing as many matching food-tile pairs as possible before the timer expires.

• Press Start to open an 8-by-8 board containing 40 tiles and a 120-second timer.
• Choose two tiles that show the same picture.
• The pair disappears when an empty orthogonal path connects it with at most two turns.
• Keep scoring through new boards and automatic shuffles until time reaches zero.

Legal connection paths

Both selected tiles must display the same picture, and the route cannot pass through another tile. If the second selection cannot connect, it becomes the new selected tile, letting you compare the next candidate without resetting the whole sequence.

Time, score, and new levels

Each successfully removed pair awards 10 points. Clearing a board and triggering an automatic shuffle do not add separate bonus points.

A run lasts 120 seconds and ends when the timer reaches zero. Clearing every tile starts a new level with the time that remains, while a board with no legal pair shuffles instead of ending.

Phone and keyboard controls

On a phone, tap one tile and then the matching second tile. The menu provides pause, resume, restart, music, and sound-effect controls.

With a keyboard, use Tab to focus Start, tile, and menu buttons, then activate them with Enter or Space. The board does not implement separate arrow-key navigation.

Frequently asked questions

These answers cover the two rule details that are easiest to miss while concentrating on the board.

• Can a connection travel outside the board? Yes. A route may use the one-cell empty border as long as the complete path still has no more than two turns.
• Does the run end when no removable pair remains? No. The engine checks the remaining layout and automatically shuffles those tiles so play can continue.
